Park Serve Day with Stoneham Volunteers

Help give the Middlesex Fells a little Spring cleaning! We are fortunate to have this beautiful resource within our town; let's show the land some love!

Stoneham Volunteers will form a team to help DCR/Friends of the Fells spruce up the Middlesex Fells. Our focus will be on the removal of invasive species and trail restoration within Stoneham's section of the Fells.

All ages welcome and no experience necessary.

Post Event Update

Wow; we learned a lot yesterday! There is an area off of the Crystal Springs Trail behind Greenwood Park where legend has it a giraffe is buried under a landfill. That is where Stoneham Volunteers convened on Park Serve Day to help DCR/Friends of the Fells with a massive restoration project. We also learned that the invasive species Knotweed and Bittersweet are NOT on the Friends of the Fells list! They have challenging and persistent root systems and they literally choke out the native trees and plants. We'll be back for another round of battle! This was a very rewarding event!
